Champagne Wishes

by whitney on December 13, 2010

I’ve just returned from a truly magical weekend in San Luis Obispo with some of my dearest friends. We spent our days eating, drinking, cooking, eating, soaking in tubs, drinking some more and laughing. We definitely did a lot of laughing. And taking pictures of our food. This lovely lady, Joy, is the reason we all descended upon The Sanitarium.

She is doing some very exciting things and we all gathered to support her and eat all of her lovely baked goods. We also thought it would be a genius idea to order our favorite Thai food from Noi’s, hang with Proof Wine Collective and pop some bottles.

Josh and the other Proof lads and ladies kindly brought a 1998 Pascal Doquet Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs. And we drank it out of glass yogurt cups. Because, why not?

I brought the Cedric Bouchard Inflorescence Blanc de Noirs. So, it was a little mini Grower Champagne tasting!

We collectively thought it would be a fantastic idea to have Joy saber cleaver the Bouchard. Because, again, why not?

As it was her first time, Josh gave some careful instruction and she was ready to go!

Job well done.

Thank you Joy, Proof and Suzanne of The Sanitarium for such a delicious experience.

OMG, the pictures are fantastic! I especially love how Joy “sabers” the bottle with her eyes closed and then looks super shocked when it worked. You guys are too fabulous. :)
